Perovskite Solar Cells. New Opportunities and Challenges

17 October 2017 | 20:00 - 21:00

£3
Perovskite solar cells provide a light-weight, thin and flexible alternative to expensive common solar cells. They generate energy even when subjected to weak light sources and are low-cost. Dr Olga Malinkiewicz will identify opportunities as well as challenges that the wonder material provides. Dr Olga Malinkiewicz is a leading Polish scientist and entrepreneur in the field of photovoltaics. She created a printing technology that produces cheap, flexible sheets of perovskite which harvest solar energy. For this invention Olga was awarded the Photonics21 award and was listed in the ‘Innovators under 35’ MIT Technology Review. She gave up her postdoctoral studies at the University of Linköping and co-founded the company Saule Technologies, which now brings the solution to mass market.
